The Centre is officially recognised by UNESCO, and is affiliated with several UNESCO programs in ecological sciences, sustainability issues, and management of social transformations. Some of these programs may be found on the web pages of the Australian National Commission for UNESCO.

The Centre is affiliated with the Institute for Rural Futures.
